ABOUT
Reed Balentine is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, with a Masters in Social Work and a BA in Philosophy and Religious Studies from UA Little Rock.
Reed's approach to relationship therapy is informed by the research of Drs. John & Julie Gottman (The Gottman Method) and Susan Johnson (Emotion Focused Couples Therapy), which he uses to provide clients with pre-commitment, conflict management, co-parenting, infidelity recovery, and divorce transition support. Reed specializes in teaching couples and adult individuals the skills they need to uncover what drives them, heal their relationships and become the best version of themselves. He provides Sex-Positive therapy that is Poly-Affirming, Kink-Competent, and LGBTQ+ Welcoming.
Reed takes a holistic approach to mental and physical wellbeing and integrates mindfulness, acceptance, and values-based behavioral therapies, including ACT (Acceptance & Commitment), CFT (Compassion Focused), and DBT (Dialectical Behavior) to support individuals who suffer from anxiety, depression, and other problems of living. He has extensive training and experience utilizing evidence-based treatments (CPT & PE) to treat PTSD among combat and sexual trauma survivors. Reed has additional training certificates in the behavioral treatment of Insomnia (CBTI) and Chronic Pain (CBTCP). Reed has been incorporating yoga and meditation techniques into his therapy practice since 2015 when he completed training at Sage Yoga School to become a Registered Yoga Teacher.
In his spare time, Reed loves hiking and camping with his family, playing music with his friends, and practicing his handstand.
